Welcome to the new members and sympathizers
Tuesday, 22 May 2007

Dear Member,

After a difficult period because of a lack of financial and human ressources, the Forum is restarting on a renewed basis. Several members have committed themselves to launching and animating the activities programme 2010-2011 proposed by Gabriel Fragnière and adopted by the Board.More details will be soon available in the section "Activities" of this website.

I stepped down from the Presidency but will remain member of the Board until the end of my mandate. Gabriel Fragnière, founding member and Past President, has been appointed President ad interim. We will fully support him in his efforts to give new impetus to the EoCF.

There are numerous cultural organisations and initiatives in Europe, but none has the ambitious scope of our Forum. Our Association is unique in its objectives defined in our Mission statement.
We at the Forum strongly believe culture is the most important tool to achieve a politically more significant EU at world level. The fact that the institutions called 2008 European Year of Intercultural Dialogue was an encouraging signal.
However, our action and organisation can only be effective by an improved and sustained use of our website as a discussing platform with the view to sharpening our vision on active European citizenship. A new kind of citizenship based on our diversity of cultures, tied by common roots.

On the Internet several tools are at your disposal; they are further described under the relevant sections.

Our platform will develop and strengthen our network throughout Europe, also beyond the 27 EU Member States. They will fuel the Forum’s more physical actions: seminars, conferences, lectures, meetings. They will bring our members closer together in our thematic and trans-regional Chapters, currently being re-organised.

Cordially yours,

Mark Dubrulle
Past President
